Mill Machinist

Jewson a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Mill Machinist who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours - 8.00 - 5.00 Monday to Thursday + 8.00 - 4.30 Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Able to understand measurements and customer requirements

• Awareness and understanding of health and safety standards applicable to machinery or mechanical handling equipment to be used

• Awareness and understanding of health and safety standards applicable to working in a processing plant and storage and distribution site

• Ability to carry out routine daily inspections of machinery

• Ability to understand, complete and maintain all documentation associated and required by the role

• Work towards deadlines and KPIs for order processing

• Ability to work as a team player within the timber processing plant and overall site operation

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous industry experience preferred but not essential

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly

• Strong communication skills

• Confident working both indoors and outdoors

• A health and safety focus

• Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
