Electrical or Junior Electrical Engineer

My Client is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer in the Water Sector

Under the direction of the Electrical Section Leader or Electrical Engineers :

• To either liaise with the 3D Design team or complete design layouts for Electrical Circuits, Cable Schemes and Cable Tray.
• Independently determine dimensions and specifications for designs of said electrical designs
• Provide electrical design support to sales/proposals in the formulation of technical proposals and give required electrical design support to operations and after-sales areas of the business
• Actively support an ongoing continuous improvement and safety culture.

Delivery:

1. Using the current company CAD software to prepare and modify electrical schemes from information supplied by Engineers to agreed timelines.
2. Interpret the customer's technical requirements and become familiar with contract specifications to ensure correct interpretation in the detailed engineering documentation, this includes discussing the brief with internal and external engineers as required by complexity and client needs.
3. Determines specifications for effective purchasing and eventually manufacturing, including compiling materials and specification sheets such as cable schedules.
4. Preparation of documentation as required under the project and Company standard procedures by the scheduled completion dates (Specifically but not limited to the engineering design document control procedures, and the contract technical construction files)
5. Select equipment; including but not limited to MCCB's, Cable, Junction Boxes and Cable tray. Compilation of specification sheets for the selected equipment.
6. Provide assistance to the 3D Design team to create and maintain standard parts within the 3D CAD environment in accordance with agreed Company practice
7. Provide technical assistance during the assembly and installation phases.
8. Assist in resolving customer problems and to liaise with the customers with respect to design issues. Customers may be internal or external.
9. Manage the priorities of workload tasks for the electrical design aspects of the project
10. Comply with the Company Quality Assurance System - BSEN:ISO 9001:2015.

11. Eliminate hazards and mitigate risks in all WT product and system design work as per the Hazardous Area Equipment Regulations and Low Voltage Directive
12. Maintain an up to date awareness and knowledge of various water treatment processes, plant and equipment types and associated suppliers that may be associated to, or influence the design of Company products or systems.

Experience and Qualifications:

• An engineering qualification at HNC or equivalent, this should be in a Electrical disciplines
• A high level of computer literacy, with experience in 3D computer-aided design tools - Autocad / Autocad Electrical Essential. 3D Experience Desirable
• Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions which may be presented in diagrammatic form and deal with technically factual information as well as information which is open to interpretation
• Experience in Electro chlorination package design. Desirable
• Water Sector or similar process related industry experience
• Experience with Electrical Schematics and wiring diagrams of control panels and MCC's.
• Knowledge and experience of ATEX, IEC Ex, HAZOP - Desirable
