Control Systems Engineer

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM Type: Permanent | Full-Time Travel: Mainly UK-based with occasional international travel Are you an experienced Control Systems Engineer looking for a role where you can see your designs come to life on site? We're representing a well-established and fast-growing control systems and automation solutions provider working across a range of industries, including water treatment, waste processing, industrial manufacturing, and fire training systems. Due to increasing project demand, they are looking for a skilled engineer with a strong electrical and automation background to join their expanding team and play a key role in delivering tailored solutions from concept to commissioning. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop PLC and SCADA-based control systems Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs Collaborate with internal engineers and project teams to deliver complete solutions Provide on-site installation, commissioning, and service support Troubleshoot, test, and refine system performance Produce documentation including technical reports, test results, and handover packs Ideal Candidate: Minimum 5 years' experience in PLC/SCADA programming and controls engineering Competent in reading and working from electrical drawings and P&IDs Familiar with Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 (beneficial) Background in control systems within process or industrial environments Strong communication and problem-solving skills Full UK driving licence and ability to travel when required Based within commutable distance to Uttoxeter, or willing to relocate What's on Offer: Competitive salary up to £55,000 (DOE) £50 daily premium when site-based Monday to Friday schedule - no weekends Pension scheme, sick pay, health & wellbeing programme Free parking and a supportive team environment Long-term opportunity within a growing technical team If you're a Control Systems Engineer who thrives in a project-led, hands-on environment and wants to make a direct impact, we'd love to hear from you.
