Occupational Therapist

We are currently seeking to recruit a professionally qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with post graduate qualifications and experience in SI to work as part of the integrated Clinical team based in children s service at Sutherland House School, Nottingham. This skilled and friendly team includes speech therapists and a therapy assistant. As well as regular line management supervision, clinical supervision will be provided through an external provider.

This post requires an empathic, creative and skilled therapist , with relevant experience working with children and young people with Autism and complex learning needs, ideally within a specialist school environment. You will be responsible for working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team, including school staff, to provide effective interventions, advice, and support for the children, young people and their families/carers. This is a great opportunity to build on and support the continued development of occupational therapy services within school, including:

• Providing advice and training for staff
• Assisting pupils with their functional and motor skills and supporting their sensory needs within the educational context
• Providing therapeutic input/provision as indicated by EHC Plans and contributing to reviews
• Providing pupils who have sensory integration needs with appropriate sensory diets/programmes
• Managing a targeted caseload and working in collaboration with staff, other agencies, families and carers.
