Datacentre Engineer: Hardware Break

Our client is seeking a Datacentre Engineer to join their team.

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months (initially)
Pay Rate: GBP150/day (PLEASE NOTE: Employer NI is paid for by the client)
Total Daily Earnings: GBP168/day (includes rolled-up holiday)
IR35 Status: Inside
Location: Tranent (Scotland)

Responsibilities:

• Providing 3rd-level hardware break-fix support to the HPE X86 estate.
• Delivering full IMAC services (installations, decommissions, and moves) across both of the customer's datacenters, leveraging customer and manufacturer tools such as PartSurfer, Intelligent Provisioning, CMDB, and ServiceNow.
• Providing smart hands support to the customers IT Security team across all datacentre equipment, from initial troubleshooting to replacing entire units through an RMA process. This includes installing and providing base configuration for replacement devices to allow IT Security to obtain remote access.
• Managing tape operations (ejects/loads) for the remote backup team.

Technical Skills:

• Previous experience in datacentres is essential.

• Self-starter with the ability to perform quality assurance and control to produce technical deliverables.
• Experience in operational support of large, complex technical environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
