As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant , you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Maths department with both individual and group learning. This role is ideal for a Maths graduate looking to gain invaluable classroom experience before potentially progressing to a teacher training program. Your main responsibilities will include:
Supporting Maths Teachers: Assisting in the delivery of lessons by providing one-to-one and small group support for students. This will help students who are struggling with certain concepts or need extra practice to keep up with the curriculum.
Encouraging Student Progress: You will have the chance to develop relationships with students, provide academic and emotional support, and motivate them to build their confidence in Maths.
Classroom Management: Supporting teachers with managing classroom activities, ensuring that students are engaged and focused on their learning.
Assessing Student Work: Providing feedback on students' work, helping to track their progress and identifying areas where they may need additional support.
Creating a Positive Learning Environment: Working collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure students feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to succeed.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (2:1 or above).
A genuine interest in education and a passion for helping students succeed in Maths.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and approachable way.
Patience and empathy when working with students who may need additional support.
A proactive, enthusiastic attitude towards learning and development.
