An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Lead Mechanical Piping to join our team in Bristol, supporting valves contracts across the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C projects. This Technical Lead Mechanical Piping role is supporting two flagship projects that are critical to the UK s future energy strategy.

As Technical Lead Mechanical Piping, you will be responsible for technical oversight of the valves contracts, ensuring successful delivery across design, manufacturing, and qualification scopes. You will play a key role in managing the configuration of the contract to remain aligned with project progress and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Lead Mechanical Piping

• Lead and coordinate technical meetings.
• Review and surveillance of contractor technical documents and drawings.
• Resolve technical issues and queries.
• Approve designs and provide input where necessary.
• Manage non-conformances, design changes, open points, and exemptions.
• Monitor and control the evolution of contract scope and technical configuration.
• Review and approve contract amendments (CTS s, ER s).
• Ensure proper integration with interfacing systems and functions.
• Communicate project progress, risks, and planning with RD and client teams.
• Report KPIs to the Contract Engineering Lead.
• Support qualification activities in line with contract and site requirements.
• Provide mentoring and support to junior team members and other Technical Leads.

Required Skills & Experience: Technical Lead Mechanical Piping

• Strong technical knowledge and experience with valves.
• Background in mechanical engineering, piping, and layout.
• Master s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• Understanding of EPR or general Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) design.
• Familiarity with equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, CDM).
• Proficient in technical document surveillance and contract management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with systems such as UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter is advantageous.
• Proficient in general IT tools and digital collaboration platforms.
• French language skills are a plus.
