dedicated and creative teacher
to join a Pupil Referral Unit, starting
immediately
to cover a maternity leave until the end of the academic year.
About the Role as an SEMH Teacher:

Teach
Nurture, Art
, and provide support across other Key Stage 3 and 4 subjects.

Step in for staff absences, ensuring continuity of learning.

Inspire and engage students with
creative and flexible teaching approaches
across the curriculum.

Support students with
social, emotional, and mental health needs
, helping them build confidence and resilience.
Ideal SEMH Teacher requirements:
-
Experience working with
SEMH and SEND
students, ideally in a
PRU or alternative provision
.

A
nurturing and caring personality
, with the resilience to manage
lesson refusers and challenging behaviours
.

Creative flair
art experience is not essential, but an ability to bring engaging and imaginative ideas into lessons is key.

Strong adaptability, quick thinking, and the ability to
build positive relationships
with students.
Minimum SEMH Teacher requirements:
-
Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
-
Provide relevant references from within the last 2 years.
-
Hold QTS, QTLS or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Must have teaching experience in an SEMH, SEN or PRU setting.

Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
