Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Key Responsibilities:

Provide
1:1 and small group support
to students with
SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties
.

Assist teachers in delivering
engaging and accessible lessons
, ensuring that all students can participate effectively.
-
Build
trusting and supportive relationships
with students to help them manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.
-
Implement
structured behaviour management
techniques to encourage
positive engagement
in learning.
-
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to develop and implement
effective intervention strategies
.
-
Support students in developing
essential life skills
, promoting independence and confidence.
-
Encourage a
calm and inclusive learning environment
that fosters
emotional well-being
.
Key Requirements:
-
Experience working with children with
SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs
.

A
patient, resilient, and empathetic
approach to supporting students with challenging behaviours.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to
engage and motivate
students.
-
An understanding of
safeguarding procedures and behaviour management strategies
.
-
A valid
Enhanced
DBS on the Update Service
(or willingness to apply for one).
