Yard Manager

Madisons Recruitment are looking for a Store / Yard Manaager on a permanent basis located in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Our client are a specialist Construction Company, who are seeking a Yard Manager to oversee the maintenance and issuing of tools, PPE, Hired Plant, deliveries, stock, fleet management and general organising of the yard.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining our cleints tools, PAT testing, arranging for servicing and repairs. Maintaining and updating computer records
• Managing our clients fleet of cars and vans, arranging servicing, repairs, replacements. Maintaining and updating computer records
• Ordering and controlling stock in and out of our cleints yard and store, ordering supplies
• Arranging for hired tools and plant to site
• Arranging and ordering of material to site
• Arranging for maintenance and upkeep of office and janitorial supplies for the office
• Some multiskilled maintenance works
• Maintaining and organising the yard and stores including ensuring they are clean, tidy and well organised.
• Delivering materials or clearing materials from sites in a 3.5t flatbed lorry.

Essential Requirements:

• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills/abilities.
• Ability to communicate to a variety of suppliers, clients and staff
• Presentable
• Self-motivated
• Ability of problem solving with common sense and initiative.
• Familiar with IT, in particular Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Desire to muck in with a variety of tasks, from dealing with suppliers to helping unload a lorry of materials or sweeping the yard
• Full driving licence
• Whilst not essential, a Forklift trick licence would be beneficial. We would consider training the candidate to use the forklift
• Some construction site experience and knowledge

• 08:00 - 16:30 working hours

• Salary of between GBP30,000 - GBP32,000
