Apprentice Cabling Engineer

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• You ll be learning new engineering skills in installing, terminating, testing and certifying network cable and fibre optic infrastructure components in a Data Centre mission critical environment.
• Be trained to assist in the Installation of floor mounted communication cabinets and server racks within data halls, ICT blanking and cable management tasks for hot and cold aisle containment operations
• Instructed to perform cable moves and changes to existing systems as required. Work with the engineers being taught how to patching out data & server cabinets as per client's spreadsheets, patching schedules and cabinet layouts ensuring that all Add/Moves/Changes (A/M/C) are approved, correctly recorded, labelled and reported correctly.
• To work safely and follow Health & Safety requirements/regulations at all times.
• You will be an integral part of our delivery team representing our business as the face of North.
• You ll be buddied up with an engineer to ensure work is carried out safely and to high quality standards.

Qualifications

For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required.

• Knowledge or working with structured cabling and or fibre optics is advantageous although not essential as training will be provided.

• Good IT skills
• As you ll be in a highly visible role, communication skills are a must, and it goes without saying, being punctual and energised by working in a fast-paced and exciting environment.
• A requirement for the role is SC Security Level Clearance check so to qualify you must be over 18 Years Old.

• A requirement for the role is SC Security Level Clearance check. Existing SC Clearance level and security checks advantageous however will be facilitated for the right candidate.

• Hold a Full driving licence for 12 months (beneficial)
