LOCATION:

The Finance Officer is an exciting new role that has been created to support the capacity and capabilities of our finance team. The role will play an important part in creating a robust and innovative financial service, while upholding our organisational values and contributing to a collaborative and supportive culture. As part of our reviewed structure, this role will join our organisation alongside a new Chief Financial Officer to maximise our impact and scale of work.
You will be an experienced Finance Officer who is able to, and enjoys, working with colleagues across a multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to run our day-to-day finance functions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, other associated finance software and Sage Payroll. You’ll have experience of working in a busy finance function and have the ability to work on your own, delivering on competing priorities and deadlines.
Strong communication skills will be important, as you will also be working closely with team members who do not have a finance background, creating accessibility in the teams’ reporting abilities and understanding of their budgets, payroll, and purchasing. You’ll need to have excellent time management skills, the confidence to take ownership of your own areas of work, and the ability to prioritise in an ever-evolving environment and service.
If you have experience of working in the charity sector, that’s a bonus, but not a necessity. You’ll be based in our London office (in Vauxhall) but will be expected to travel to our Southampton office regularly (around twice a month), for which all expenses will be paid.
