Salary: Up to GBP26,000 - GBP28,000 per annum

Hours: Mon Thurs 9am - 5.30pm, Fri 9am - 4.15pm

Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote

My client is a market leader in the promotional merchandise industry. We are looking for an Import/Export Co-ordinator, the position will support all European distribution centres.

Reporting to the European Shipping Manager, The Import/Export Co-ordinator will assist in the tracking and documentation support for urgent consignments within the Export department. They will be required to keep track of orders as they go through the logistics process (from Warehouse through to delivery) and help ensure that they are on track to customer commitment dates.

The Import/Export Co-ordinator will work within the Export department arranging export of urgent consignments and will also be working closely with internal departments such as Sales, Order Processing, Warehousing and Exports, to help resolve any issues that may impact the delivery and provide administrative support to facilitate clearances through customs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtaining Transport Quotations and Options to meet client or event delivery schedule Courier, road, air and sea freight.
  • Produce Export Invoice s and Packing Lists where required for both UK and Germany.
  • Arrange dispatch of road, air, and sea consignments.
  • Keep track of consignments requiring special attention, ensuring that they flow through the supply chain process, whilst keeping relevant internal departments informed.
  • Produce export consular paperwork when required (Certificates of Origin, EUR1, A.TR). This will include direct contact with suppliers to gain appropriate proof of origin.
  • Facilitate EX1 documentation for consignments departing at EU / UK borders
  • Working closely with all departments, helping to resolve any issues that may impact commitment dates by being the primary contact / liaison between departments to ensure that vital information is received by the correct personnel in a timely manner.

As the role evolves over time, it may also be necessary to change some elements of this job specification to meet the changing needs of the business, so an individual with a flexible approach is a must.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Minimum 2 years experience within International Logistics, ideally surrounding import / export shipping within both UK and Germany (including customs)
  • Must be able to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
  • Fluent in English is essential whilst additional language skills in German is an advantage.
  • Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Resilient able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and adaptive, embraces change.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS business applications (Excel, Word)
