About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to support the delivery of high-quality Accountancy and Finance apprenticeships. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements, maintain high standards in assessment and teaching, and provide guidance to assessors and trainers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve the quality of assessment and delivery of Accountancy and Finance apprenticeship standards.
  • Conduct standardisation activities to ensure consistency in assessment decisions.
  • Provide coaching and support to trainers and assessors to ensure compliance with Ofsted and awarding body standards.
  • Carry out sampling of learner portfolios, ensuring evidence meets required standards.
  • Ensure all apprentices receive a high-quality learning experience, with clear progression and achievement opportunities.
  • Lead on internal verification processes, ensuring feedback is constructive and supports continuous improvement.
  • Keep up to date with sector changes, apprenticeship funding rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support external quality assurance visits and audits.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on assessment and verification activities.

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised IQA qualification (e.g., Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or equivalent).
  • Qualified in Accountancy/Finance (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, A1, or equivalent).
  • Experience in assessing and quality assuring apprenticeships within Accountancy and Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and EPA (End-Point Assessment) requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills to support assessors and trainers.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with Ofsted inspections and understanding of quality frameworks.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding rules and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with e-portfolio systems and digital assessment tools.
