Semi Senior Accountant

An accountancy firm based in Halifax are recruiting for a Semi Senior Accountant to join their established accounts team on a full time, permanent basis. The firm have a number of offices in the area and the successful candidate will be based predominantly from the Halifax office but must be happy to commute to local clients and dual site from the Bradford office too. This is a great opportunity for a Semi Senior looking for a step up or an experienced Senior looking to take on a portfolio of clients.

Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview

• Production of accounts and other financial statements efficiently and profitably

• Preparation of working papers to acceptable standards and internal systems
• Production of accounts and other financial statements via computer programs and manual systems
• Preparing statutory accounts for Charities.
• Preparing statutory accounts
• Liaising directly with clients where applicable
• Preparation of draft tax computations, invoice and draft accounts letter for sending to clients
• Updating internal production record systems
• Audit experience would be a great advantage but not a necessity
• Attendance at client premises for stocktaking - out of normal hours as required
• Bookkeeping and VAT Return checks to client records including submission of VAT returns to HMRC
• Recommending client record keeping improvements
• Training and mentoring junior Team Members
• Total client care
• Accurate time recording of work performed
• Arrange review meeting with partner in charge
• Ad hoc tasks as required to meet the needs of the business

AAT qualified, ACCA part qualified or ACCA qualified - generous study support package available!

3 years + experience in a UK accountancy firm

Semi Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits

• 32,000 - 35,000 per annum dependant on skills and experience
• This is an office based role 09.00 - 17.00 Monday to Friday
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service for each FY, up to 5 days)
• Parking on site
