Senior Electrical Surveyor


We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Senior Electrical Surveyor to join our dynamic Trafford team at our Trafford Depot in Manchester, (M23 9LF). This role will be carried out onsite.

This position offers a competitive salary up to 45,000pa with annual pay reviews.

The standard working hours for this role are 40 hours a week.

As a Permanent Senior Electrical Surveyor, you will inspect and repair faults within schools, projects, and community buildings, ensuring they remain safe and up to date. Your efforts will enhance the learning environment, support community activities, and promote sustainability. You will play a key role in reducing energy consumption, lowering maintenance costs, and extending the lifespan of structures. As a vital member of the Amey team, your proactive approach will ensure the efficient completion of projects and the mentorship of junior staff. Your collaboration with clients will meet their needs and expectations. A unique aspect of this role is that it can be flexible as long as KPIs are met.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage reactive and planned electrical works within council buildings and 50 schools within Trafford.
  • PPM works in line with Legislation/mandatory monitoring of contractors.
  • Day to day liaison with help desk and client.
  • Timely delivery of KPI delivery.
  • Be responsible for workload/delivery, in respect of technical training requirements, development and resourcing.
  • Guide best practices for meeting technical and project requirements comprehensively.
  • Monitor technical aspects, report variances, and suggest corrective actions.
  • Liaise with clients on technical matters, budgets, and requests.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, and other regulations.
  • Manage workload, delivery, and team efficiency, including technical training and development.
  • Assist in formulating financial reports for internal and external purposes.

What You'll Bring:
  • Electrical Testing 2391 (essential)
  • 18th edition wiring regulations
  • HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Building Services Engineering
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Electrically strong or building background
  • Strong project management and co-ordination skills.
  • Competency in using CAFM systems and basic Microsoft software.
  • Post registration experience as a surveyor with experience in Local Authority work including education and commercial projects (Desirable)
