Job Opportunity: Environmental Health Officer (Temporary) 🌍 Position: Environmental Health Officer Contract: Temporary Start Date: ASAP End Date: 6-Month Contract, with the possibility of an extension Working Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, 37 hours per week Pay Rate: £25.79 Per Hour PAYE Location: PE15 0EN Job Purpose: To take a leading professional role in all aspects of pollution control, animal welfare, pest control, and the Dog Warden service and to supervise allocated staff. To be responsible for meeting statutory requirements, to deliver relevant services, and contributing to managing the performance of the section Key Responsibilities: To be the lead professional for Local Authority Pollution Prevention and Control, ensuring all process permits are regularly reviewed and a full program of inspections is carried out. To liaise extensively with process operators to give full support in achieving compliance with BATNEEC requirements To contribute to the Local Air Quality Management process, ensuring progress reports are prepared and completed by statutory guidance and deadlines. To professionally lead on the discharge of the Council's duties to deal with Statutory Nuisance and other Environmental Protection Act 1990 duties and powers and Public Health Acts, including Private Sector Drainage, etc. To be a professional lead officer for enforcement procedures, including the issue of statutory notices and preparation of cases for the institution of legal proceedingsbyh current enforcement policies To supervise the discharge of the Council's duties on licensing of animal welfare establishments. To supervise the discharge of the Council's duties to deal with stray and dangerous dogs, including dog warden and kenneling services. To supervise the Council's Pest Control ContractorRequirements: Member of Charter Institute of Environmental Health Experience in atmospheric pollution/statutory nuisance enforcement.
