This is a fantastic opportunity to provide 1:1 support, helping a Year 2 pupil build confidence, manage emotions, and engage positively in learning.

About the Role
Long Term Futures is seeking a patient and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with ADHD and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming primary school in Tile Hill, Coventry. The role requires strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of de-escalation techniques. Experience with Team Teach or similar positive handling strategies is desirable. This long-term role offers stability and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with ADHD and SEMH needs, promoting engagement and focus.

  • Implement behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation techniques.

  • Support emotional regulation and social skills development.

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.

  • Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviour.

  • Team Teach or other behaviour management training (desirable).

  • Minimum six months' experience in a primary or SEN school.

  • A patient, proactive, and resilient approach to supporting learning.
