Our client, a leading provider of highway maintenance and infrastructure solutions, is seeking an experienced Construction Site Agent to join their team on the Suffolk Highways contract based in Ipswich.
About the Role:
As a Construction Site Agent , you will be a key member of the Construction Team, responsible for delivering all planned works efficiently and safely. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality highway services for residents, businesses, and highway users across Suffolk. The contract, secured in 2023 for up to 20 years, encompasses a wide range of highway maintenance and improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise construction schemes on-site to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining required HSEQ standards.
Efficiently organise labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources.
Liaise with stakeholders including network managers, local authorities, community groups, and designers.
Ensure all Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place before commencement.
Maintain high safety standards and ensure all site personnel, including subcontractors, are fully trained and competent.
Work closely with commercial teams and take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects.
Keep accurate records, including site diaries, work activities, resource allocations, and as-built information.
Assist the Scheme Delivery Manager in developing construction programmes, phasing plans, and method statements.
Build strong relationships with key supply chain partners.
Support Early Contractor Involvement and incorporate buildability considerations, including traffic management.
Participate in Value Management processes and Value Engineering reviews.
Ensure compliance with company working methods and QSE processes, procedures, reporting, and performance requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
IOSH/SMSTS certification.
CSCS card.
HNC or Degree in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
Full, clean driving licence.
