Our client, a leading provider of highway maintenance and infrastructure solutions, is seeking an experienced Construction Site Agent to join their team on the Suffolk Highways contract based in Ipswich.

About the Role:

As a Construction Site Agent , you will be a key member of the Construction Team, responsible for delivering all planned works efficiently and safely. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality highway services for residents, businesses, and highway users across Suffolk. The contract, secured in 2023 for up to 20 years, encompasses a wide range of highway maintenance and improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise construction schemes on-site to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining required HSEQ standards.

  • Efficiently organise labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources.

  • Liaise with stakeholders including network managers, local authorities, community groups, and designers.

  • Ensure all Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place before commencement.

  • Maintain high safety standards and ensure all site personnel, including subcontractors, are fully trained and competent.

  • Work closely with commercial teams and take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects.

  • Keep accurate records, including site diaries, work activities, resource allocations, and as-built information.

  • Assist the Scheme Delivery Manager in developing construction programmes, phasing plans, and method statements.

  • Build strong relationships with key supply chain partners.

  • Support Early Contractor Involvement and incorporate buildability considerations, including traffic management.

  • Participate in Value Management processes and Value Engineering reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with company working methods and QSE processes, procedures, reporting, and performance requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • IOSH/SMSTS certification.

  • CSCS card.

  • HNC or Degree in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).

  • Full, clean driving licence.
