Setting Out Engineer – Substation Project – East Lothian 📍 Location: East Lothian 📆 Start Date: April 2025 ⏳ Duration: Up to 6 months (potential extension) 💰 Rate: Up to £320 per day (CIS) A leading civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to support a high-profile substation project in East Lothian. If you’re looking for a long-term opportunity with a respected contractor, this could be the perfect fit. The Role: * Setting out and surveying for earthworks, foundations, and infrastructure * Using Total Station and GPS to ensure accurate site measurements * Working closely with the site team to ensure compliance with designs and tolerances * Supporting quality control and reporting on progress * Collaborating with site managers and subcontractors to maintain efficiency What You Need: * Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on substations or similar heavy civil projects * Strong knowledge of surveying equipment (Total Station, GPS * Ability to read and interpret * technical drawings & specifications * CSCS card (essential) * SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous) Why Apply? * Competitive CIS rate – up to £320 per day * Work with a well-established contractor * Opportunity for a longer-term role
