Electrical Fitter

Job description RSW are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Fitter who must be able to demonstrate the ability to work to the high standards set by the Company. The Electrical Fitter will need to have a proven track record of inspecting, servicing and repairing vehicles in addition to preventative maintenance of vehicles and other pieces of equipment. Working in an engineering environment on road rail excavators. Job Duties o Fitting and installation of 24v electrical components to heavy plant and equipment o Installation of CANBus control systems o Be able to understand electrical wiring diagrams. o Troubleshooting and fault finding o Electrical diagnostics using manual or laptop devices. o To commit to punctual attendance for day – to – day work o Complying with all health and safety legislation and legal requirements is a priority. Skills/Qualification Required o A qualification in heavy vehicle engineering (City and Guilds or NVQ) or a recognised apprenticeship would be beneficial. o Good communication skills o Good time keeping o The ability to continue to learn and take on new tasks as and when presented. o Being able to work flexibly as part of a team or on your own when required. o Ability to work under tight timescales and under pressure. Previous experience working on machinery used in the rail Industry would be beneficial but not essential. Location Based in Company Premises on the Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate, Blaenavon. Hours of Work Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 16:15 or 07:00 – 17:15 (1/2 Hr Lunch Unpaid) Minimum 39 Hour Week before any overtime is paid. Overtime Time & half for hours worked Monday – Saturday. Double time for hours worked Sunday. Wages The position is hourly paid and fully qualified and experienced candidates can expect to be paid £14.00 per hour, paid weekly.
