We're recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join an award winning, leading consultancy based in the heart of Birmingham, specialising in delivering high-quality Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Architecture and Planning Consultancy across a wide range of sectors. With a dynamic team, they work on Education, residential, refurbishment, Build To Rent and mixed-use projects, offering innovative solutions to their clients. They are looking for a talented and driven Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
Quantity Surveyor Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play an integral role in the delivery of high-profile projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams. You will provide expert advice and management throughout the lifecycle of the project, from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct feasibility studies and assist with cost planning and cost advice.

Prepare and manage tender documents and bid processes.

Administer JCT contracts, including contract administration and final account negotiations.

Calculate quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities.

Provide support for both pre and post-contract services, including cost estimation, project monitoring, and reporting.

Liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing guidance on cost-related issues and project delivery.

Prepare and review project financials, including cost reports and cash flow forecasts.

Assist in the management of project risks and change control processes.

Contribute to project success through accurate and timely management of all cost aspects.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Pre and post-contract experience, particularly in education, residential, and high rise buildings. The client is however flexible, if the candidate is the right personnel for the company.

Proven experience in contract administration and managing JCT contracts.

Experience as employers agent and project manager is valuable but not essential

Experience in feasibility studies, quantity calculation, and preparation of Bills of Quantities.

Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Desirable:

MRICS or working towards it.

Experience in managing medium to large-scale projects.
