Head Electrical and Electronics Design Engineer

Our client is looking for a proactive and flexible Head Electrical and Electronics Design Engineer to join their established design team. The ideal candidate will have a positive and professional attitude, with a 70:30 balance in either electrical or electronics engineering; it doesn't matter which way around this may be. You will be responsible for leading fault-finding exercises, identifying cost-saving opportunities, designing electrical and electronic schematics, and selecting components. The role involves working with PCBA's to the component level and collaborating with other engineering teams. Training will be provided in areas where the candidate may need additional support.

Responsibilities as Head Electrical and Electronics Design Engineer

- Leading fault-finding exercises and confidently diagnosing issues
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities within electrical and electronics engineering projects
- Consistently create documentation to a high standard
- Designing electrical and electronic schematics and selecting components
- Sharing knowledge with and supporting other team members and engineers
- Working across the full product cycle, from cradle to grave
- Managing projects, including technical aspects and project methodology
- Liaising with engineers from other teams using positive communication skills

Qualifications and Experience as Head Electrical and Electronics Design Engineer

- Degree in electrical or electronic or relevant engineering
- Post-qualification experience is essential
- Proficiency in Solidworks, PCBA design, and project management
- Knowledge of PLC's, HMI's, and microprocessors used in embedded systems
- Methodical approach with good attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers from other teams
