Are you experienced in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN)?

This is a great opportunity to provide 1:1 support, helping a Year 3 pupil develop essential communication and social skills in a structured environment.

About the Role
Long Term Futures is seeking a patient and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with ASD and SLCN in a welcoming school in Binley, Coventry. This role requires knowledge of communication strategies, social interaction techniques, and sensory support. Experience with Team Teach, Makaton, and visual supports is desirable. This long-term role offers stability and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support using structured teaching and communication strategies.

  • Use visual supports, social stories, and assistive communication tools.

  • Encourage social interaction and emotional regulation.

  • Work with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.

  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and SLCN.

  • Team Teach, Makaton, or visual communication experience (desirable).

  • Minimum six months' experience in a primary or SEN school.

  • A patient, proactive approach to supporting learning.
