SEN Nanny in Bournemouth, BH6. A weekday part-time afterschool SEN Nanny position available for an engaging, proactive, and creative SEN Professional to support a fabulous 6 years old with an ABI. Offering up to GBP20.20 Gross per Hour, depending on experience

Nearest Tube/Station: Not applicable, driver with own car essential.
Wage/Salary: GBP18.20 - GBP20.20 Gross per Hour. Depending on experience.
Driver Essential? Yes, with own car, willing to use for work purposes (mileage paid)
Essential: Experience supporting children with SEN, early years development and behavioural experience. This role is open to female applicants only.
Desirable: Experience supporting a young person with a brain injury and / or sensory processing.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Term time: Monday to Friday: 3.00pm to 6.30pm. School Holidays: Monday to Thursday: 7.45am to 3.30pm. Our client can offer additional hours available during term-time or reduced working days.

About our client: Millie is a real character; full of energy, mischief and fun! A thriving, active, and busy 6-year-old with a love for climbing, swimming, going to the playground and sensory walks. Millie attends a mainstream school setting, and loves to play and engage with all of her peers! Millie sustained a Brain Injury at birth, as a result presents with a development delay, sensory processing disorder (SPD) and low muscle tone. She can find it difficult to stay on task and concentrate, and struggles with fatigue and self-regulation. There is emergency epilepsy medication on site, although Millie does not have frequent seizures, or medicated for epilepsy, there is a possibility when she is poorly, or has a high temperature that a seizure can occur. Millie can be described as sensory seeking, has no danger awareness and uses a wheelchair for longer journeys. She has good receptive and expressive communication skills and has a therapy team in place to support her rehabilitation.

Overview of role: The SEN Nanny is an integral part of Millie s team, collaborative working, thinking outside the box and being creative is essential; this is a dynamic role and as your responsibilities will grow as you settle in, and build your relationship with Millie, and her parents. The usual nanny duties, school pick up, arranging playdates, extra-curricular activities, nursery duties, are all included; however, the SEN Nanny will also implement therapy programmes to support Millie s overall development and to reach her targets and goals. The physio, OT and SLT each have individual areas they are working on with Millie, with a sensory diet also introduced. You will be confident working both in a sole charge and shared care role alongside Mum. Millie MDT is vast, and growing, therefore the SEN Nanny will be an excellent communicator and team player.
