The Role: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant for the ret of the academic year to work closely with children who have autism, low or non-verbal communication abilities. You will play a vital role in providing individualised support, enabling students to overcome challenges, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group support for students with autism and communication challenges, including those who are low or non-verbal.
Use effective behavior management techniques to create a positive and safe learning environment.
Implement strategies that enhance communication, such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop personalised support plans tailored to each student s needs.
Assist with the preparation of engaging and meaningful activities to support students learning and development.
Monitor and document progress, contributing to students overall growth and well-being.
Requirements:
Experience working with children with autism, low or non-verbal communication, and behavior management challenges in an SEN setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students' needs.
Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous.
