Cover Supervisor

Job Duties of a Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher
• Ensure students are on task and adhere to school policies
• Assist with the implementation of lesson plans provided by the teacher
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Manage student behaviour and resolve conflicts when necessary
• Report back to the teacher on student progress and any issues that arise

Required Qualifications:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Experience working with children or young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Experience:

• Prior experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential
• Prior experience working as a Cover Supervisor is desirable but not essential

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of classroom management techniques
• Ability to engage and motivate students
• Basic knowledge of educational principles

Working Conditions:

• Work hours typically follow the school day schedule
• May require standing or walking for extended periods
• Potential exposure to classroom noise and student behaviour
