Skilled Operative

Skilled Operative Location: Tyseley, Birmingham Working Hours: 40 hrs per week - Mon - Fri (Start time 7:30am) Contract Length: 12 months Main Duties: * Operate excavators for various tasks on-site. * Undertake drainage work, including the installation and maintenance of drainage systems up to 3 meters deep. * Perform ducting tasks for infrastructure development. * Lay kerbs and ensure proper alignment and stability. * Assist in footway surfacing and paving tasks. * General laboring duties on highways projects. Key Skills/Experience: * Previous highways experience essential, with expertise in kerb laying, footway surfacing/paving, and drainage (up to 3 meters deep). * Ability to operate 360 Excavators (Below 10t) safely and efficiently. * Experience in drainage, ducting, and kerb laying. * Knowledge of health and safety protocols on construction sites. Qualifications/Tickets: * CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). * 360 Excavator (Below 10t) certification. * Full UK Driver’s License (required for the role). * Abrasive wheels certification (preferred). * Lifting Operations certification. * NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) Operative certification. * Emergency First Aid at Work training (preferred but not essential). Personal Attributes: * Strong work ethic and reliability. * Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong focus on health and safety in all aspects of the work
