Virtualisation Consultant

My client, a large consultancy, is in need of a Virtualisation Consultant for a 6 month contract opportunity inside IR35 based in Sheffield offering 2 days per week remote but requiring 3 days per week on-site.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in supporting VMware environment and the technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, vROPS, NSX and SAN, Strong Experience with development and automation tools (eg, vRealize Automation, Ansible, git, GitLab, Jenkins ) for deployment and orchestration, Experience with programming languages (eg Shell Script, PowerShell, Python), Experience with Operation Systems (eg Linux Servers and Windows Servers), Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure, Experience with cloud technologies and hybrid cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in in VMware migration strategies and methodologies in an advantage, Good knowledge of agile software development principles, practices, and tools (eg Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.), Knowledge on applications services (eg OS, DB, Middleware, Network), Knowledge on tooling services (eg DNS, AD, Storage, NAS, Anti-virus), Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environment.
