About the Role

As an Apprentice Finance Assistant, you will support the finance team in carrying out essential accounting tasks while studying towards your AAT qualification. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional environment, allowing you to develop valuable skills and knowledge that will set the foundation for a successful career in finance.

Apprentice Finance Assistant Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of sales invoices and processing purchase invoices
• Supporting bank reconciliation and financial transaction processing
• Assisting with debt collection and maintaining accurate financial records
• Handling supplier queries and reconciling supplier statements
• Inputting data into financial systems and ensuring records are up to date
• Supporting the finance team with administrative tasks and ad-hoc projects
• Learning and applying financial regulations and accounting principles

Apprentice Finance Assistant Requirements

Essential:

• A strong interest in finance and accounting
• Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
• IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to learning
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

Desirable:

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
• Some prior exposure to an office or finance environment
