Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive – Debt Recovery Sheffield | £30,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Benefits Are you a skilled legal professional with experience in debt recovery and defended claims? We are working with a well-established organisation in the financial and legal sector, currently seeking a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join their growing team in Sheffield. The Role: As part of this dynamic legal team, you will be responsible for: * Managing a defended caseload through a case management system. * Assessing high-value or complex pre-legal debts for potential legal action. * Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and court bundles for small claims, fast track, and multi-track cases. * Advising clients on legal matters, recovery prospects, and dispute resolution strategies. * Collaborating with courts, enforcement agencies, and other suppliers to ensure a high standard of service. * Handling insolvency actions such as bankruptcy and winding-up petitions. * Managing return of goods claims and other related legal proceedings. The Ideal Candidate: To be successful in this role, you should have: * A law degree (or equivalent legal qualifications) and be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive. * Experience in handling a defended caseload on the Small Claims Track (preferred). * Strong IT skills and the ability to adapt to new systems. * Excellent problem-solving skills and a solution-focused approach. * Confidence in making and receiving telephone calls to liaise with clients and other stakeholders. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * The ability to work towards targets and earn performance-based bonuses.
