UK Product Manager - Coatings & Inks Location: Home Based in UK Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialist chemicals, its UK distribution, represents the company and other suppliers to offer a broad portfolio of chemicals, resins, additives, pigments and raw materials. The UK Coatings and Adhesive Group is seeking an experienced sales professional to become the Product Manager. As part of a small sales team you will take responsibility for UK key accounts, supplier relationship management as well as financial and project management. Reporting to the Industry Group Manager, the Product Manager will take national responsibility for the sales, growth, and technical assistance of the product groups CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT * Identify, develop and manage all aspects of customer relationships. * Be proactive in preparing and scheduling regular planned customer calls against an agreed schedule. * Manage and resolve customer queries and complaints. PROJECT MANAGEMENT * Project management in the product group and the successful integration of projects into the regular course of business * Ongoing management and development of projects that drive the business development of the product and industry group. This responsibility should be managed by regular consultation with the Industry General Manager; FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT * Weekly analytical review of actual to forecast sales, margins and profitability; * Providing accurate and informed budget and forecast information annually or when required; * Quarterly review of their budgets and forecast information with the submission of Variance Analysis Reports to the IGM; * Ordering and managing the stock within agreed key indicators and, where applicable, in consultation with their IGM or other divisional IGMs. REPORTING & KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT * Ensuring timeous and qualitative sales visit reports with actions and key information from own customers; * Ensure the timeous and qualitative principal visit reporting with actions and key information from own principals, * Regular competitor analysis. PRINCIPAL MANAGEMENT * Responsible for the relationship with principals in line with the Group objectives. This would include the following: * Information and communication flow from the principal. * New principal identification and development EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS * Academic qualifications relevant to industry Grouping – Degree or Diploma; * A proven understanding of basic management accounts & finance; * Practical technical experience; * Related sales experience; * Marketing experience; * People management experience; * Industry-specific experience. * UK driving licence * Right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available In return our client is offering a competitive salary, profit share and car allowance
