Job Title: Commercial Contracts Lawyer Location: Remote working Salary: £50,000-£80,000 Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week 8.30am-5pm Contract Type: Permanent Purpose of the Role: The Commercial Contract Lawyer provides legal advice to individuals and teams across the business and often leads on internal projects. This role involves working on MSAs, GFAs, tech, software, licensing, outsourcing, government and public sector agreements, tenders, RFP responses, and supplier agreements. The Commercial Contract Lawyer is responsible for negotiating, drafting, and advising on a range of commercial contracts, working on both client and supplier engagements. Key Responsibilities: * After completing the training period, handle a diverse and high-quality caseload with minimal supervision. * Manage the disclosure of commercially sensitive information while ensuring compliance. * Conduct legal research on relevant case law, technical issues, and legal precedents to support case progression. * Provide strategic litigation advice to the Head of Department and colleagues as needed. * Ensure case files comply with internal and external regulations, as well as service level agreements. * Oversee the flow of information, ensuring all relevant parties receive necessary updates. * Engage in firm-wide and departmental training sessions. * Meet agreed-upon performance targets. * Manage files and time efficiently to maintain cost-effectiveness. Required Skills: * Qualified to practice as a solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales. * Minimum 3 year’s experience in negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial contracts within the English and Welsh jurisdiction. * Proven ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment, managing demands and multiple stakeholders. * Strong legal research skills with experience in detailed case law analysis. * Effective team player with experience collaborating in legal teams. * Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. * Experience managing shared inboxes and handling high volumes of verbal and written requests. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and friendly telephone manner. * Highly organised with strong administrative skills, including accurate filing and document preparation. * Solution-focused with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
