Reporting into the Senior Communications Manager, the Communications Officer will help manage a variety of channels including the intranet, Yammer, emails, newsletters, website and social channels. A day in the life of a Murphy Communications Officer Responsible for helping to deliver content and messages through Murphy’s internal and external communication channels Proactively work with other internal departments to create high quality, clear, persuasive and original content Research, write and deliver news stories for the company’s in-house magazine, company intranet site and other channels as needed Support the rest of the Communications and Marketing team on delivering key campaigns Maintain and update information on the company intranet and website Assist with the production of other communications materials, including marketing material such as sector and project brochures and profiles, case studies and award submissions Lead on relevant digital / internal communication channels as required, including reporting and measurement Drive best practice changes and development to the company’s channels, working with the rest of the team on best practice changes to communications processes Attend and engage fully in any learning and development activities that are deemed appropriate by your line management Participate in team/business meetings as necessary Participate and engage fully in company appraisal / performance review processes and constantly work to improve your individual, your team and the wider group’s performance Still Interested, does this sound like you? A degree in communications, marketing or journalism or at least three years relevant communications / marketing experience. Excellent writing and proofreading skills along with a creative and positive outlook Understanding of in-house communications teams, how they operate and best practice in communications channels Understanding of a mix of digital and offline communications channels Evidence of tactically delivering communication channels including working to tight deadlines, a flexible approach to delivery, and the ability to multi-task Experience of working with Sharepoint (modern) and good presentation and oral communications skills The ability to produce and edit short video clips.
