Pilot Plant Laboratory Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join a leading organisation within the chemical process industry.

This temporary role is based within a pilot-scale production environment at Redcar, supporting the development of advanced chemical manufacturing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and performing laboratory analysis using GC-FID, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and auto-titration methods
• Maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating a range of analytical instruments
• Managing laboratory inventory, including chemicals and consumables
• Supervising day-to-day lab activities and supporting technicians with training and guidance
• Ensuring laboratory practices comply with health and safety standards, including COSHH and risk assessments
• Collaborating with operational teams to support data quality and process improvement

Laboratory Supervisor Requirements:

• Minimum HNC or equivalent in Chemistry, Analytical Science, or related discipline
• Prior experience in a laboratory setting, ideally within a process or production environment
• Proficiency with GC-FID and other core laboratory instruments
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards and documentation
• Effective communicator with strong attention to detail and organisational skills
