The School

Avon Search & Selection are excited to be working for a residential specialist school. The school specialises in supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex care in a residential setting.

The Role

As support staff for our client, you will enrich the lives of the children and young people at the school by enabling them to develop by providing practical physical, cultural, social and emotional development, and using a person-centred approach.

Some of these activities include but are not limited to, swimming, sensory exploration, horse riding, trips to town, and supporting the children and young people to achieve their full potential.

Our client is looking for full-year-round support workers across a number of different flexible shift patterns (these can be discussed over the phone) and also has options for more senior roles as Keyworkers and Assistant Keyworkers for those suitable.

Please note that although some experience within the sector would be ideal, our client is happy to take on new candidates with little to no experience and can provide full training.

Career Progression

The school is big on progression and career development. Along with this, they have an on-site training centre with nationally recognised assessors who can deliver NVQ/QCF Level 2 Safe Handling of Medication, Level 3 Residential Childcare. This is in addition to other training on offer such as: Epilepsy, lifeguard, first aid, PBS (positive behaviour support) and Intervention training.
