Stores Operative

We are seeking a Stores Operative to join a leading engineering company based in Bradford. This is a permanent role offering real opportunities for career progression and personal development as the company continues to grow.

• Starting Salary : Up to 29,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Overtime : Paid at 150% during the week, and double time after 12 pm on Saturdays through to Sunday evening.

Responsibilities of the Stores Operative:

• Conduct Goods Inward inspections for all incoming components
• Support the Production Purchaser & Planner to ensure smooth operations in the goods-in, despatch, and workshop areas, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Perform inspections on all finished goods leaving the company, ensuring they meet design specifications.
• Identify and document any discrepancies or non-conformances found with product specifications.
• Manage defective stock by isolating it from acceptable goods to maintain proper inventory control.
• Oversee the flow of products, ensuring all are processed according to schedule and production timelines.

Requirements of the Stores Operative:

• Basic proficiency in using tools and relevant applications to assist in daily operations.
• Strong literacy in English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear communication and documentation.
• Prior experience working in a workshop or similar environment, with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work in a flexible environment, adapting to shifting schedules and priorities as needed.
• Basic computer skills to handle administrative tasks and maintain records.
