Children's Residential Home Deputy Manager


Our client, based in South East London, a dedicated provider of residential care for children and young people. Committed to promoting positive outcomes and making a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children are seeking a compassionate and motivated Deputy Care Manager to join their dynamic team in a Children's Residential Home.

Role Overview

As the Deputy Care Manager, you will work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the effective day-to-day management of the Children s Residential home. Your role will involve maintaining the highest standards of care, leading by example, and providing guidance and support to the care staff while fostering a positive and safe environment for the children.

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Care Manager:

  • Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the operational management of the home.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a dedicated team of care staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including Ofsted standards.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans for each child.
  • Facilitate staff training and ongoing professional development.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and maintain adherence to safeguarding policies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and positive change.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as needed.

Qualifications and Experience of the Deputy Care Manager:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or willingness to work towards Level 5.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a residential care setting for young adults.
  • Proven supervisory or managerial experience is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding practices and relevant legislation.
  • A valid driving license is preferred.
