Job Summary:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the finance department. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing and recording invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
  • Assisting with payroll administration
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements
  • Preparing and analysing financial reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A relevant financial qualification, such as:
    • AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
    • ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
    • CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
