Geotechnical Engineer

Due to continued business growth, we are recruiting a Geotechnical Engineer for one of our rapidly growing clients in the West Midlands that operates across a number of sectors including Construction, Highways, Rail and commercial build.

Job Description

Working as a senior member of a technical team within a fast-growing company, the successful candidate will be responsible for working with clients and junior members of staff for design packages from early feasibility and costing stages through to the completion and checking of formal design packages. Alongside supporting the teams existing experience the member of staff will have a pivotal role working with the technical director to help expand the company s technical services and help make clients aware of these technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Leading and checking of formal design packages
• Working with clients and the internal team at early stage feasibility design
• Providing technical support to junior members of the team
• Attending client meetings
• Assessing and coordinating geotechnical testing requirements on site
• Driving development of in house technical services alongside technical director
• Conducting professional field investigation
• Collaborate with the operations teams to draft methods statements, discuss design works, costings etc.

Key skills and Experience

• Degree in geology/ civil engineering BEng, BSc or equivalent
• MSc in Geotechnical engineering or Engineering Geology
• Chartered with a relevant professional body Cgeol or ICE - Advantageous
• + 5 years experience in a relevant civil engineering/ geotechnical engineering field
• Knowledge of current geotechnical software
• Experience in AutoCAD
• Experience working closely with clients and stakeholder management
• Knowledge of Eurocode/ British standard compliant design preferably with respect to retaining walls

Interview Process

This will position will require a 2 stage interview, 1st via teams and 2nd stage in person at our clients offices.
