Job Title: Pupil Intervention Worker

Location: Crookhey Hall, Cockerham, LA2 0HA

Salary: GBP20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Pupil Intervention Worker to join our fantastic team at Crookhey Hall in Cockerham.

About the role

To assist the Head of School / Pupil Support Manager in developing the school as a high quality specialist provision for pupils with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties (SEBD) through providing the highest standards of pastoral care for all pupils of all abilities in a safe and orderly learning environment which provides a high standard of behaviour.

To support the teacher in addressing the needs of all pupils but especially those pupils who need particular help with behaviour management to overcome barriers to learning. All the duties outlined are carried out under the direction and supervision of the Head of School / Pupil Support Manager.

The post holder will contribute to the life and community of the school in all of its aspects by establishing and maintain a positive learning environment in which the pupils' behaviour is well managed and within which social, emotional and learning needs can be met within a supportive framework.

Provide information and advice to enable pupils to make choices about their own learning, behaviour and attendance. Support the challenge and motivation of pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem and have the ability to identify and de-escalate potential problems before they escalate and be able to develop strategies to promote the positive behaviour of pupils.

Essential

  • GCSE's in Maths and English, grade C or above
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Ability to build relationships with children & young people
  • Ability to work successfully with pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Willing to undertake training
  • Ability to prioritise tasks

Crookhey Hall School is a Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) School which caters for boys and girls aged 10 - 17 years of age. We provide students with an educational experience that will not only extend their academic and vocational social skills and abilities but will also promote personal growth and help to build self-esteem. In this way it is hoped that each individual will aspire to achieve their full potential, eventually leaving school with the determination to make a positive contribution to society in the years to come.

Crookhey Hall School has a 15-acre setting in countryside south of Cockerham, near Lancaster. Due to the location, it would be beneficial for candidates to have a driving licence.

The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each pupil's potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide pupils with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment.
