Grounds Maintenance Operative

Overview Nuco Solutions are recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and carrying out grounds maintenance services to communal areas within social housing properties. This role will involve a variety of tasks related to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the grounds. Job Description * Carry out grounds maintenance tasks to ensure communal area are well kept, including, grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control and litter picking. * Use the PDA reporting system to record site visits and accurately log the tasks completed for future reference. * Familiarise yourself with and adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times. * Ensure the use of all personal protective equipment (PPE) provided to carry out the tasks safely. * Participate in regular “Toolbox Talks” to identify any training or health & safety requirements. * Use appropriate tools and equipment for the tasks at hand, ensuring the use of best horticultural practices. * Maintain tools in good working order and ensure they are regularly cleaned and washed, reporting any equipment defects to the supervisor for prompt repair or replacement. * Ensure that all vehicles used for the role are kept clean, with regular checks to oil and coolant level, reporting all defects to the manager. * Work to hit KPIs * Undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the role and responsibilities of a Grounds Maintenance Operative. * Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards, delivering excellent service to residents and customers. Requirements * Demonstrable experience working in a similar position within a housing organisation, Direct Labour Organisation (DLO), or grounds maintenance role. * A solid understanding of the tasks and responsibilities involved in grounds maintenance, particularly within a housing or estate management context. * Knowledge and understanding of the practical and technical issues associated with grounds maintenance services. * Ability to effectively carry out a range of grounds maintenance tasks (e.g. grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, weed control, litter picking, etc.). * Skilled in using both mechanical and hand tools commonly used in grounds maintenance operations, ensuring they are used correctly and safely. * Demonstrated ability to maintain and care for tools and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working condition. * Current holder of a National Proficiency Test Certificate for the safe control and use of pesticides (Pa1, Pa6a) or similar certification. * Full UK Driving Licence with towing ability Benefits * Van and fuel card provided * Health and wellbeing packages * Generous pension scheme * 28 days holiday
