Salary: GBP88.94 - GBP104.84 per day (Depending on Experience)

Are you a compassionate and patient professional with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have experience working 1:1 with pupils with EHCPs?

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant (SEN LSA) to join a welcoming school in Hull . In this rewarding role, you will provide personalised support to a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), assisting with both academic learning and social development. This position is perfect for someone with a calm, caring approach and a strong understanding of SEN needs.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the pupil access the curriculum, develop confidence, and make progress in a supportive and structured learning environment.

One-to-one SEN TA Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with an EHCP.
  • Assist with both academic and social aspects of learning.
  • Adapt resources and teaching methods to meet the pupil s specific needs.
  • Support emotional regulation and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Promote independence and social interaction during lessons and play.
  • Implement strategies and activities outlined in the EHCP.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil s progress and wellbeing.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the school s safeguarding standards.

1:1 SEN Support Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally on a 1:1 basis.
  • Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting additional needs.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare certification (desirable).
  • A nurturing, patient, and flexible approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusion and pupil development.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply.
