The business is now on the lookout for an experienced Commercial Director to lead a team of Commercial Managers, shaping strategy, driving commercial success, and developing a high-performance team to support the businessβ growth. What Youβll Be Doing: β Driving Commercial Strategy: Lead the commercial function, ensuring projects meet profitability targets and risks are carefully managed. β Leading Project Sales: Oversee the commercial process from opportunity to contract, ensuring offers are aligned with client needs, risks are mitigated, and proposals secure shareholder investment approval. β Managing Governance: Develop and refine internal processes to ensure efficient project lifecycle management, from offer development to asset adoption. β Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing, effective commercial team that can scale with the business. β Client Collaboration: Support the sales team in building strong, lasting relationships with B2B clients to drive repeat business. β Market Insight: Monitor market conditions and regulatory changes, ensuring the business remains agile and competitive. What Weβre Looking For: π‘ Proven experience in a senior commercial role within energy utilities or the construction sector. π‘ Knowledge of low-carbon energy technologies and an understanding of DNOs, IDNOs, and ICPs. π‘ Strong negotiation skills β particularly around complex, high-value contracts. π‘ Ability to manage risk and ensure commercial success from development through to operational stages. π‘ Leadership mindset β experience building, leading, and motivating high-performing teams. π‘ Bonus: Understanding of electricity regulations, construction development processes, and utilities procurement.
