We are a family of 12 independent opticians spanning Dorset and Somerset, with our first practice still located in Twickenham. The original company "Frith Bros" was founded in Twickenham by Robert Frith's Uncle back in 1926. With nearly 100 employees across the 12 practices, we are thrilled to say our average length of service is 10 years. Join us not only for a new job, but also a long and healthy career.
Our optometrist position in Yeovil is a fantastic opportunity to work in a clinically focussed, quality driven practice. You would work within a collaborative team of optometrists with a number of special interests. Amongst the team is four IP qualified optometrists, a glaucoma diploma, specialist contact lens fitter, two trained orthoptists and a dyslexia specialist. This practice is fully supportive of optometrists developing their special interests, including support for higher qualifications and we actively encourage staff to spend part of the week in hospital work. Three of our optometrists also work within hospital ophthalmology departments, doing glaucoma, casualty, paediatric refraction and orthoptics clinics.
The practice itself is spacious, all air-con, extensively equipped including Optomap retinal imaging, latest Humphrey VFA and Heidelberg OCT. The group's main practice is in Yeovil and is one of the biggest independents in the South West, and we also have a practice in Chard which is smaller but refurbished in 2019. Both practices have well trained, welcoming support staff including five dispensing opticians. The role will give the opportunity to work between the two practices.
As an independent practice, we can provide you with the clinical freedom, generous test-times to allow for comprehensive professional care, and equipment to solve problems and genuinely help people.
Our patient's are loyal to us, returning year after year, meaning you'll have the opportunity to see real continuity of care too.
You'll be an integral part of our team and will help drive our service offering forward, always looking for opportunities to improve and innovate.
We are ideally looking to fill four or five days a week, including alternate Saturdays, however if you are available to offer a part time position then we would be very keen to discuss your requirements.
