Support Worker

THIS IS A UK BASED POSITION, TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE ,IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT:

1. You have UK work experience with at least 6 months experience working as a support worker or in a similar position.
2. Your CV clearly shows your relevant experience and qualifications.
3. Experience with Brain Injury Support is advantageous
4. A full clean UK driver licence and access to a car that your able to use for work purposes.

NSS PLUS LTD-NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life.

We are looking for psychology graduates,support Workers and Healthcare Assistants or suitable candidates who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping our clients access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.

Job Title: Male/Female Support Worker
Location: York, YO23
Hourly Rate: GBP12.50-GBP14 per hour depending on experience.

Days & Hours:

Tuesday: 2 hours

Friday: 2 hours & 45 mins

Days for support have not been finalisedyet, so these hours may be complated as one shift of 4.75 hours, or a split shift of 2.00 hours for shopping and 2.75 hours for light/heavy cleaning.

About you-Essential Experience:

The successful candidate will, ideally, have experience in supporting clients that have suffered a spinal injury.

About our client:

Our client is a 26 year old man, who lives at home in the centre of York, in his family home with his sister. The client makes use of both a manual wheelchair, and a walking frame, following a spinal cord injury. He requires support with the following activities:
Shopping Support - 2.0 hours per week:
- To go to the shops with the client, to help load shopping, carry heavy bags, drive him back home, and put shopping away.
Domestic Cleaning, for light and heavy cleaning 2.75 hours per week.

Successful Candidates will:
