Our client, a dynamic debt collection business based in Hertford, is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join their team. This Litigation Paralegal role offers a competitive salary of up to £40k, with office-based hours from Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm. Key Responsibilities of a Litigation Paralegal As a Litigation Paralegal, you will manage your own caseload while providing vital support to senior case handlers. Your duties will include: * Handling defended service charge, ground rent, and possession matters related to residential property. * Reviewing claims, assessing defences and counterclaims, and advising clients and agents. * Addressing breach of covenant matters and progressing cases as instructed. * Complying with court and tribunal deadlines. * Offering timely general landlord and tenant advice to clients. * Ensuring effective case management, including updating databases and diarising key dates. * Maintaining regular communication and reporting to clients and agents. * Providing internal advice as required. * Performing other duties as assigned by the Line Manager. Skills and Qualifications Required for a Litigation Paralegal To excel in this role, you will need: * Proven experience in civil litigation and property litigation. * Strong legal drafting skills and the ability to manage caseloads independently. * A high level of organisation and attention to detail. * A law degree or equivalent qualification. * Specific expertise in defending service charges or ground rent cases.
