Substation Site Manager

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction of a substation for a solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Coven. This exciting role involves managing the build of the substation and ensuring it is connected to the grid, providing essential infrastructure for renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the construction of a substation for solar and BESS projects, ensuring all activities are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Manage on-site operations, including coordinating subcontractors, materials, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
• Oversee the installation of electrical components, transformers, switchgear, and cables as part of the substation build and grid connection.
• Liaise with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve any on-site issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
• Monitor progress, report milestones, and ensure the project meets quality and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, preferably in the construction of substations for solar, BESS, or other electrical infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of grid connections and ICP works, with a focus on the installation and connection of substations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and coordinate on-site teams and subcontractors.
• Health and safety experience, with SMSTS certification (ideal).
• Civil-oriented background preferred, with knowledge of electrical systems and installations.
