Extrusion Operator

EXTRUSION OPERATOR REQUIRED IN TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE

Do you have previous Extrusion experience (preferably within blown film extrusion) and are you looking for a new role to start ASAP?!

We are recruiting an Extrusion Operator to join a long-standing blown film manufacturer in Telford, Shropshire, this role will be working a 12 hour shift pattern (rotating days and nights).

The basic salary for this will is just under GBP27,000 per annum, but you will get enhanced premiums when working weekend shifts, these premiums will be paid at T1/2 overtime rates for a Saturday, and double time for working a Sunday.

There will also be an opportunity to work extra days overtime in the week should you wish to and the business can accommodate it, and any extra day worked outside of your standard shift pattern will also be paid at overtime.

The pay rate will also be reviewed once you've passed a 6 month probation period with the company.

What You Will Do:

• Support the extrusion process alongside experienced operators, learning to run and monitor various machinery.
• Keep production lines running smoothly and efficiently, assisting with changeovers, quality checks, and general upkeep of the equipment.
• Test products to ensure they meet client expectations, including packing & folding raw material.
• Monitor material levels and feed the machines, unload rolls off the machine, and adhere to H&S and 5S procedures.
• Wrap ready products, empty scrap bins, and conduct material checks to ensure the right ingredients are used.
• Escalate any issues to the team leader and undertake other reasonable duties as required.

What You Will Bring:

• Previous experience in a similar role (preferably blown film extrusion, although PVC extrusion experienc would also be considered)
• A willingness to learn and progress within the company.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to work and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
