Senior External Sales Manager

Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: GBP45,000 GBP55,000 basic + performance bonus (OTE GBP70K+)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

The business is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior External Sales Manager to drive continued growth and success.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take responsibility for both your own sales pipeline and supporting the wider team to meet targets and build strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop existing customer relationships to maximise sales opportunities
  • Lead and motivate sales teams by setting a high-performance example
  • Generate and secure new project leads and trading accounts
  • Drive daily sales through excellent service, relationship-building, and trust
  • Meet or exceed sales targets in terms of turnover and gross profit
  • Participate in business planning and regular review meetings with the senior management team
  • Promote the company's brand and values in the marketplace
  • Collaborate with management to secure resources and support for customer success
  • Stay informed about new and updated product offerings

What We're Looking For:

  • A confident and enthusiastic sales leader with a proactive, self-managed approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support others
  • A proven track record in external sales within the electrical wholesale industry
  • A team player with a commercial mindset and a focus on long-term customer relationships
  • Experience in mentoring or guiding sales teams is advantageous
  • Full, clean UK driving licence required
